About Us

Who we are

Autoplus Insurance has been writing coverage in south Mississippi since 1984. Three offices, in Laurel, Waynesboro and Collins, run by people who live here.

We are an independent agency. That is the part worth understanding. We do not work for one insurance company, so we are not obliged to sell you their product when somebody else's fits you better. We represent Safeway, Safeco, Progressive, Foremost and others, and we shop your coverage across all of them.

What that means in practice: you tell us what needs covering, we compare what each company will charge and what each one actually covers, and we bring you the options side by side. Sometimes the cheapest quote is the right answer. Sometimes it is cheaper because it leaves out something you needed, and we will tell you that too.

We write auto, home and mobile home, renters, business, life, health, Medicare and senior plans, bonds and pet coverage.

The other thing you get from a local agency is a person. When you call, someone in Laurel, Waynesboro or Collins picks up. When you have a claim, you talk to the same people who sold you the policy, and we stay with it until it is settled. That is not something a call center can do, and it is the reason most of our customers have been with us for years.

Amber Pulliam special education endowment

In 1997 the Pulliam family established an endowment at The University of Southern Mississippi in the name of Don and Helen's daughter, Amber, who was born with Down syndrome. It funds a scholarship for students training to teach special education, with preference given to the Pine Belt counties this agency has served since 1984. Read her story, and how to give.
